Growing to Meet the Need

When we began Engedi Refuge 14 years ago, we saw a painful gap. Women who had been forced into sex trafficking needed more than temporary shelter. They needed specialized services that address the incredible trauma and post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) that human trafficking causes. God called us into this work to create a special place where abused women could find safety, hope, and a path forward. That calling continues to guide every decision that we make, as the need for trauma informed care grows. Across the Pacific Northwest, resources are dwindling even as more women continue to seek protection and support. Our facility must grow to keep answering God's call for women who need help. That’s why, in the upcoming months, we are stepping forward in faith to expand our Counseling Center so more women can receive the trauma therapy they need after years of abuse.
