Growing to Meet the Need
For years, Engedi Refuge has provided women who have survived human trafficking with safety, hope, and trauma informed care. As the high need for mental health care grows, we are expanding our Counseling Center to better support women in need.

Counseling Center Expansion
Thanks to the generous support from three funders, Engedi Refuge is expanding our Counseling Center to provide more space for trauma therapy sessions for sexually exploited women. This facility expansion will help more women rebuild their lives after human trafficking.

Healing Through Horses
Through equine assisted therapy, women who have survived human trafficking can rebuild trust, practice healthy boundaries, and experience acceptance in the calm, nonjudgmental presence of horses. Over time, these connections can strengthen confidence and help survivors learn that safe relationships are possible again.

At Engedi Refuge, women are finding inner peace and strength, so they can work toward self-sufficiency and reunite with their children.

Empowering Mothers after Trafficking
Human trafficking is a heartbreaking crime that targets some of the most vulnerable members of our society, and Mothers are often among those most deeply affected. At Engedi Refuge, we've discovered that more than half of the women we've assisted since our founding through 2025 are mothers. We are committed to helping these Moms break free from the cycle of human trafficking and build brighter futures for themselves and their children.

The Importance of Long-Term Residential Care
Engedi Refuge is Washington's only long-term residential program for survivors of human trafficking, offering stays of up to two years. Unlike emergency shelters, our holistic, trauma-informed care gives women the time and support needed for lasting recovery.

Celebrating New Beginnings
