Our Work
Engedi Refuge offers a safe, long-term residential program that provides compassionate restoration services for women who have experienced commercial sexual exploitation. We provide one of the most successful restoration and after-care programs for sex trafficking survivors in the nation. We operate five facilities in Whatcom County, Washington, including three residential homes for women, a counseling center, and a learning center. Our services include safe housing, addiction cessation, trauma therapy, education, spiritual guidance, and employment services for women escaping a life of human trafficking. We support survivors by providing a compassionate residential community where women are cared for and empowered to reclaim their lives, find new hope, and create a future free from exploitation.
Our Approach
Our holistic approach supports each woman’s physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual healing. Engedi Refuge provides safe housing for survivors of sex trafficking for up to two years. From the start, our founders recognized that providing stable housing is essential for women escaping a life of sexual exploitation. After survivors secure safe housing, they can begin to address their physical health needs, focus on recovery from addiction(s), and start healing from the trauma they have experienced due to violence, exploitation, and abuse. Our approach focuses on comprehensive in-house wraparound services that provide Christ-centered care. Our holistic program supports each woman on her individual journey toward safety, restoration, and hope.
